Happy Sunday,
October felt so good. This year has continued the blessings and the seeds I have sown.
I love the person I’ve become at 33. The woman who always prioritizes herself, has fun, works hard, and also values rest more than performance. The woman who romanticizes her everyday life and finds peace in knowing that God will even use my flaws to my advantage. Learning to live in a constant state of gratitude, saying thank you, but also more, please, being open to receiving.
In the past, working as a contractor was hard for me, especially as the holidays approached. But I have come to accept that even overcoming our fears can lead to God’s divine timing. God has exceeded my expectations. My new affirmation, which I say to myself every day, is: I am expecting God to surprise me today. Not only am I excited to be working on more commercials, developing more connections in the film world, and starting a new season as a mentor with a girls’ mentoring organization, but I’m also just grateful for the time I get to spend with the people I love and the time I get to spend alone building my sanctuary.
I’ve been thinking about how much my faith has grown because of writing and reading. I put prayers in my prayer jar. I write out what I want in every part of my life, knowing it will always come back to me and that everything will come together at the right time—trusting that everything is unfolding beautifully.
I finished my third book of the month, Kennedy Ryan’s Can’t Get Enough, and what stood out to me was when Maverick said to his love interest, Hendrix, “Let’s just be good together.”
So often when we hop into a relationship, start a new month, or start a new job, we set expectations and try to predict the outcome. But I want to be good and see where it goes. With this new chapter, let’s just be good. Let’s enjoy and be full of joy.
Instead of thinking I have two months to figure out my life, how about surrendering and allowing November to be full of good news? Peace in knowing that sometimes the best plan is enjoyment.
In October, there were days when I was on my dream set and days when I had to show up for a role I didn’t want, but each day was good.
I’m a big fan of rituals and seasons. This year, I attended my friend’s annual Halloween party again, and it made me think about how far I’ve come since last year and how the rituals we create impact us in the future.
I had just seen her for my flower-making party. It was a girls’ night because I want to make sure I’m doing more fun stuff during the week, too. I think it’s important to prioritize fun and spending time with the people we love, even in the middle of a busy workweek. We don’t have to wait for the weekend or a special occasion to make time for the people who make life feel good.
I love hosting, but lately I’ve been able to show up and celebrate rather than plan and curate, and I like it. I like being the one who gets to add to the moment.
And I know that when I have the time, it will be time for me to host again. But for now, I love when people have milestones in their lives and give me the responsibility to curate for them. I think that is, in fact, one of my love languages: adding to moments that feel special. And I love when others do that for me, too.
My challenge for all of us reading this month is to feel good every day. All of those feel-good moments will turn into a very big, beautiful, abundant life.
I am so happy we have a new month on the horizon. I feel like I did everything I wanted to do this year, so I can only imagine what 2027 will feel like. It will be the outcome of all the peace I found pursuing my dreams, even in the midst of detours. It will reflect all the times we showed up. It will be a surprise at how past prayers can make their way to us.
I know firsthand that patience is not easy, but hope helps us do our best.
