Hi,
As June and Juneteenth come to a close, I am so grateful for the moments that have encouraged me to nurture Sunday Forever and build a community full of black excellence that I have been inspired by thus far. My whole life, I have been surrounded by people who are unapologetically themselves and invested in their creations, so it's no surprise that three years later, this project that started with only 100 subscribers has grown beyond my wildest dreams.
Thank you to everyone who participated in our second Soft Sunday Forever weekend. June gloom didn't stop us from gathering for a day of restorative yoga + meditation at the beach on Saturday, June 10th. It means the world to me that companies provided us with generous in-kind donations. Curious Elixiris donated booze-free cocktails for us to wine down, Studio Clmbr LA donated socks and raffled off a ten-pack package of classes, Cheeky Bonsai donated cramp-relief patches, Bevel donated Aluminum-Free Deodorant and Slow Tide provided us with yoga towels and blankets. It's incredible that companies support my intention to make everyone feel loved even after the events are over.
Of course, the weekend didn't stop there! On June 11th, we hosted our first-seated brunch at High Tide's Oasis in DTLA. Thank you to Chef E Dubble for curating the first Soft Sunday Brunch menu. Our first Sunday Forever Radiant brunch was successful, so it was no surprise that during the second event in June, we were blessed to be surrounded by so many beautiful and warm faces, ready to indulge in a great Sunday. Again, I am so taken aback by the outpouring of love from Wundabar Pilates, Up La Brea Studios, Ann Clearly Acupuncture, COOLGirl thebrand, and TruFusion Weho for their raffle donations!! Thank you, Mattie’s Magic, for her beautiful body butter! DJ Soraya, Nomi, Elz the DJ, and DJ Black & Miles kept us full throughout the night!
Over the years, my favorite prayer has been Thank you. Thank you for the soft landing place to experiment and try new things. Thank you for the freedom to be appreciated for doing great work.
What's your dream? No matter how big or small you should pursue it, that is our ancestor's most abundant dream. To live happily, whole, wealthy, rich in spirit, basking in the sun...
If you are new here, I hope you will check out some of our old interviews, recipes, and stories! Sunday Forever was created to empower you to have a lifetime of wonderful Sundays; the best is yet to come!
